1. Information We Collect

a. Personal Information

• Display name, email, profile photo (from your account or sign-in method)
• Firebase User ID (UID)
• Any messages, comments, or posts you create within the app

b. Location Information

• Foreground location (while app is in use) to help with nearby event discovery and check-ins
• Background location (with your permission) to enable passive check-ins, safety monitoring, and event stats

📍 We never use your location data for advertising or profiling purposes.

c. Bluetooth Proximity

• We scan for nearby devices using Bluetooth to help discover local events or people nearby
• No personally identifiable information is shared via Bluetooth, and it only functions with proper permissions
• Bluetooth data is not used for advertising or tracking outside the app's intended features

d. Usage & Device Data

• App version, device type, crash logs, and feature usage
• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (anonymized event and performance data)
• Device Information (collected weekly for app support and analytics):
  • Platform (Android/iOS/Web)
  • Device manufacturer and model
  • Operating system version
  • App version and build number

We do NOT collect:

• Serial numbers or unique device IDs
• Computer names or user names
• Hardware specifications (RAM/CPU/disk space)
• Other privacy-sensitive device identifiers

e. Event Data

• Events you create or join
• Your attendance stats (for badges, achievements, and event summaries)

2. How We Use Your Information

• Operate and improve the app’s features
• Help you find and join events near you
• Match nearby users for real-time connections
• Deliver personalized stats, badges, or suggestions
• Ensure safety during events (optional location pings)
• Monitor app health and diagnose bugs

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share data in the following cases:

• With service providers (e.g., Firebase, Google Maps) to deliver features
• With event participants (your display name and profile photo if you join their event)
• With analytics and crash reporting services (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) to monitor performance and fix issues
• As required by law (e.g., court order or legal request)
• If the app is acquired or merged, we’ll notify you and honor your data rights

4. Your Rights & Controls

You have the right to:

• View and update your personal information
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data (email us at support@get2getha.app)
• Opt out of location tracking (via device settings)
• Revoke Bluetooth permissions
• Disable analytics tracking (where supported)
• Object to or restrict certain types of data processing, where legally applicable

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to:

• Provide services you request
• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

When your data is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymized.

6. Children’s Privacy

Get2Getha is not intended for children under 16. If we learn we’ve collected data from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it.

7. Data Security

We use secure protocols, authentication, and encryption (via Firebase and secure HTTPS connections) to protect your data. However, no app is 100% secure, and we recommend using strong passwords and staying cautious during meetups.

8. International Users

If you are outside the United States, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of North Carolina and the United States of America.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in-app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
